Irene likes the way their life is. They like the way their friends are. And they like the way their shoes are, thank you very much. Unfortunately, everyone and everything else seems to disagree, and things just never stop changing. When Irene's friends begin dating or otherwise nurturing so-called crushes, Irene finds themself confused. Why don't they love the way every else does? And just because they don't, that doesn't mean there's something wrong with them... right?

There are a couple things in life Janice is certain of. 1) She doesn't like her mother and 2) She does like Josune. Sitting outside on a hot summer day, listening to her best friend sing as ice cream drips down her arm, she thinks she's happy.

Lilith investigates paranormal activity for a living. When she's hired for a job in Erlheim, she's deeply unsettled by both the town's eerie atmosphere and its mayor, a steely woman who insists no magic exists in the village. With the help of the carpenter's son, Lilith begins investigating the nearby forest, where the "paranormal mischief" is said to be occurring. However, even with the support of her cousins and fellow investigators, Lilith cannot shake the feeling that something in Erlheim is very, very wrong.
